Ingredients
  

  • 2 packs ramen noodles (fresh or dried)
  • 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 teaspoons red pepper flakes (adjust for heat)
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • 2 soft-boiled eggs (optional topping)
  • Fresh cilantro (for garnish, optional)
  • Other toppings (sliced mushrooms, bok choy, etc.) as desired

Instructions
 

  • In a pot over medium heat, combine the broth and soy sauce. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  • In a separate pan, heat the sesame oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and grated ginger, stirring for a minute until fragrant.
  • Add red pepper flakes to the garlic and ginger mixture, stirring to coat with oil.
  • Pour the chili oil mixture into the simmering broth, stirring to combine the flavors.
  • Cook the ramen noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • Add the cooked noodles to the pot with the broth, stirring gently to coat.
  • Ladle the ramen into bowls and garnish with green onions, cilantro, soft-boiled eggs, or other desired toppings.

Notes

To save time, pre-chop garlic and ginger. Store leftover broth in an airtight container in the fridge.
