Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup red, white, and blue sprinkles

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (176°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Stir in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  • Fold in chocolate chips and sprinkles until evenly dispersed.
  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for about 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Chill the dough for 30 minutes for thicker cookies. Use room temperature ingredients for easier mixing. Store in an airtight container or freeze for longer freshness.
