Materials

  • 2 large boneless chicken breasts Sliced thin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp onion powder
  • salt and pepper To taste
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter Divided
  • 5 cloves garlic Minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 tsp crushed red pepper flakes Optional for heat
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice Freshly squeezed
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup chicken broth Low sodium preferred
  • 0.33 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup baby spinach Optional
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms Optional
  • 0.5 cup sundried tomatoes Optional
  • chopped parsley For garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Season the Chicken: Pat chicken dry. Season both sides with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Sear the Chicken: Heat 2 tbsp butter in skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken 4–5 minutes per side until golden. Remove and set aside.
  • Make Garlic Butter Base: Add remaining 2 tbsp butter and garlic to the same skillet. Sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant. Add Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes.
  • Add Liquids and Cheese: Pour in chicken broth to deglaze pan. Stir in heavy cream, lemon juice, and Parmesan. Simmer 5 minutes until thickened.
  • Combine and Finish: Return chicken to skillet. Spoon sauce over top. Add spinach, mushrooms, or sundried tomatoes if using. Simmer 3–4 minutes. Garnish with parsley and serve hot.

Notes

For extra richness, use chicken thighs instead of breasts.
Customize the sauce with more lemon, herbs, or spice.
Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or garlic bread for a complete meal.
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
