Materials

  • 1 bag Doritos 9.75 oz, Nacho Cheese flavor or your favorite
  • 1 lb ground beef or shredded chicken
  • 1 packet taco seasoning or homemade blend
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup 10.5 oz, or mushroom soup
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes optional
  • 1 cup corn or black beans optional
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese or Monterey Jack/pepper jack blend

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch casserole dish.
  • In a skillet, cook ground beef until browned. Drain fat. Stir in taco seasoning with a splash of water.
  • In a bowl, mix sour cream, cream of chicken soup, and milk until smooth.
  • Add diced tomatoes, corn, or beans to the meat mixture if desired.
  • Layer half the crushed Doritos in the casserole dish.
  • Spread the meat mixture over the chips.
  • Pour the creamy mixture evenly over the meat.
  • Sprinkle with cheese. Add another layer of Doritos and top with remaining cheese.
  • Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, until bubbly and golden.
  • Rest for 5 minutes, then top with lettuce, tomatoes, olives, or avocado before serving.

Notes

Swap beef with chicken or turkey for variety.
Make it vegetarian by using black beans or pinto beans instead of meat.
For extra crunch, add fresh crushed Doritos on top right before serving.
