Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh peaches, peeled and diced
  • 1 to 1.5 cups sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamo
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Wash and peel the peaches, then dice them into small pieces.
  • In a large saucepan, combine the diced peaches, sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Stir until well-coated.
  • Set the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally.
  • Cook for about 30-45 minutes until the mixture thickens to a spreadable consistency, stirring more often as it thickens.
  • Blend the mixture with an immersion blender for a smoother texture, or transfer to a blender in batches.
  • Remove from heat and let cool before transferring to sterilized jars. Cool completely at room temperature before sealing.

Notes

Choose ripe peaches for best flavor. To store, refrigerate for up to two weeks or freeze for longer storage. Reheat by microwaving or warming on the stovetop.
