Ingredients

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Pat the chicken breasts dry and season with salt and pepper on both sides.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  • Add the seasoned chicken to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes until golden brown, then flip and cook for another 10-15 minutes on medium heat covered.
  • Once cooked through, remove chicken and melt butter in the same skillet.
  • Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  • Pour in chicken broth and lemon juice, scraping any browned bits from the skillet.
  • Return chicken to the skillet, spoon sauce over it, and let simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  • Serve garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

Use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken reaches 165°F. Marinating chicken beforehand enhances flavor. Pair with a side salad for freshness.
