Materials

Main Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes optional, for heat
  • fresh parsley chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  • Prepare the chicken – Pound chicken breasts to an even thickness. Season both sides with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  • Sear the chicken – Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook 5–6 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through (165°F internal temperature). Remove and set aside.
  • Make the sauce – In the same skillet, sauté minced garlic for 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits. Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan, whisking until smooth.
  • Season and thicken – Add more salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes to taste. Simmer until the sauce thickens slightly.
  • Combine – Return chicken to the skillet and spoon sauce over the top. Simmer 2–3 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  • Serve – Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot with pasta, rice, or vegetables.

Notes

For a lighter version, replace heavy cream with evaporated milk.
Boneless chicken thighs may be used instead of chicken breasts.
Add spinach, mushrooms, or sun-dried tomatoes for extra flavor and nutrition.
